Nabil Bank Limited has launched the Nabil Bank Education Hub, a dedicated banking and advisory centre designed to support Nepali students planning to pursue higher education abroad.

Located at Putalisadak, Kathmandu, the Education Hub brings together education financing, financial planning, foreign exchange services and specialized banking solutions in a single platform, marking what the bank describes as the first initiative of its kind in Nepal's banking sector.

The facility was inaugurated on Monday by H.E. Simon Ernst, Ambassador of Australia to Nepal, Nirvana Kumar Chaudhary, Chairman of Nabil Bank, and Manoj Kumar Gyawali, Chief Executive Officer of Nabil Bank. Members of the bank's Board of Directors and senior management also attended the ceremony.

The Hub is designed to serve students seeking overseas education, their parents, educational consultancies and other stakeholders by providing integrated financial solutions and advisory services throughout the study-abroad process-from admission planning and education financing to foreign exchange services and post-graduation loan repayment.

Speaking at the inauguration, Chairman Nirvana Kumar Chaudhary said the initiative reflects the bank's long-term commitment to education as a driver of national development.

"Investment in education is not only an investment in an individual but also in families, communities and the nation's future. Through the Education Hub, we aim to provide students with the financial access, guidance and banking support they need to pursue their academic aspirations with confidence."

He added that the bank plans to expand the initiative by establishing dedicated Education Hub counters across its nationwide branch network, making the specialized services more accessible to students and parents throughout the country.

Australian Ambassador Simon Ernst welcomed the initiative, describing it as a reflection of the shared commitment of Nepal and Australia to strengthening education.

"Reliable and transparent systems foster trust across the education ecosystem, benefiting students, families, educational institutions and financial service providers alike. Nabil Bank's commitment to establishing a one-stop support centre for students and parents is both practical and timely."

He also commended the bank's efforts to strengthen student selection and verification processes, saying such measures would contribute to greater confidence in international education.

According to Nabil Bank, the Education Hub has been established in response to the growing demand for comprehensive financial support among students pursuing overseas education. Beyond education loans, the centre offers specialized banking services, financial advisory and dedicated customer assistance tailored to individual educational journeys.

"The Education Hub goes beyond education financing," said Ananta Paudyal, Director of Nabil Bank. "It provides specialized banking services, financial advisory and dedicated facilitation throughout the entire overseas education journey. This represents another significant step in our commitment to customer-centric innovation and meaningful financial solutions."

Unlike a conventional bank branch, the Hub is staffed by education banking specialists who provide personalized guidance and faster service delivery for education-related financial needs.

One of the key features of Nabil Bank's education loan is its moratorium facility, allowing students to defer regular loan repayments during their study period. The arrangement is intended to ease financial pressure while students focus on academics, research and career preparation.

CEO Manoj Kumar Gyawali described the Education Hub as a pioneering initiative for Nepal's banking industry.

"As the demand for international education continues to grow, students require far more than financial assistance alone. The Education Hub integrates education financing, foreign exchange services, financial planning and specialized banking guidance into a single platform, offering seamless support from admission planning through graduation and loan repayment."

The bank emphasized that the Education Hub complements its nationwide branch network rather than replacing it, providing specialized expertise, faster decision-making and an enhanced customer experience for education-related financial services.

Nabil Bank currently serves more than 2.6 million customers through a network of 264 branches and 315 ATMs across Nepal. With over four decades of operations, the bank says it continues to expand its customer-focused offerings under its "Banking and Beyond" philosophy while supporting education, financial inclusion and long-term economic development.
